Estate settled in 2006 but lawyer still sending bills?

We settled my fathers estate in 2006, he passed in 2005 and we are still getting lawyer bills even though 1) the lawyer said he would drop the rest of his charges less what he already received 2) the lawyer didn't help that much, we as the children ended up with nothing where-as my uncle ended up with all my fathers personal belongings as well as forcing us to sell my fathers shop to pay back mortgage. It was in the State of Montana, the lawyer did recieve 16,000 from an auction that was held that sold all of my fathers welding tools from his shop. All 3 children recieved 10,000 and no personal belongings. The firm basically kept dragging it out, we signed multiple agreements to settle the estate but last minute my uncle would change his mind (we ended up settling against him which made no sense why we even had to deal with the man) he was allowed to go onto my fathers property multiple times and take whatever he wanted and the lawyer never filed anything for it
